Transportation Project Engineer
Dewberry is currently seeking a full time Transportation Project Engineer our growing Richmond, VA office. The successful candidate will work on all phases of site development and transportation projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Transportation projects will include horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, traffic studies, utility relocations, development of maintenance of traffic plans, and preparation of contract documents. Site/civil projects will include grading, storm water management systems, utilities, and erosion and sediment control. The successful candidate must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused.
The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and ranges from general civil engineering tasks to technical work that requires strong capabilities in AutoCAD, Microstation, Carlson Civil Suite, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. The successful candidate will also be required to learn and become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices and standards, and other Dewberry-specific software programs.
BS degree in Civil Engineering.
VA PE license, or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
2-6 years of experience in transportation and site/civil projects in the Richmond area.
Proficient with AutoCAD and Microstation.
Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication.
Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
