About the Position:
CERDEC - The Communications-Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Center develops and integrates C4ISR technologies that enable the warfighter to sense the battle space; deny and disrupt enemy efforts; and remain connected to achieve and sustain information superiority and strike with decisive lethality and survive.
CERDEC Software Engineering Directorate (SED) conceptualizes, develops and supports the fielding and sustaining of Systems and Software products, services, and technologies that enhance Army, Joint, and Coalition Forces warfighting capabilities. CERDEC SED helps ensure Americas Warfighters and Allies are equipped to defend the Homeland and own the decisive edge throughout the battlespace. SED performs this mission through a well-trained and professional Software workforce.
The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions within the Department of Defense as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to those positions. This announcement is open to accept resumes from candidates interested in helping the Department of the Army meet our mission requirements for the acquisition of systems , equipment and facilities.
This position is being filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority for Acquisition Positions in accordance with the Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act.

Incumbent will organize and conduct development investigations of generic applications of new or improved software engineering methods, techniques, principles and concepts for developing/maintaining software intensive battlefield systems. Conduct investigations of specific issues or aspects of more complex issues pertaining to assigned programs. Evaluate design implications of system security and environment so that system designs adequately resist established or projected threat. Prepare technical specifications and statements of work, evaluates rid proposals, provides technical guidance to contractors, resolves problem areas, and propose new approaches. Organize, conduct and provide technical engineering support for assigned programs involving the development of new systems, engineering techniques and computer science technologies as well as the application or adaptation of the foregoing to ongoing tactical automated systems, development programs, to solve existing problems, to enhance performance of real time command and control and automated tactical systems.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work managing design or development programs in the area of software engineering technology. Examples of such experience includes evaluating software capability, measuring interoperability of software components or developing prototype software systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade (or equivalent).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
