Job Description
The Technicians or Mechanics are responsible for carrying out all work orders provided by the management or supervision of the Department and are required to report to the appropriate management level all incidents, progress reports or equipment failures which affect or pertain to the facility.
Duties of the Job
This classification and pay scale, will be employees who are average or above average in the knowledge of maintenance. He or she would have a good overall knowledge of electricity, plumbing, air conditioning, painting, would know the preventive maintenance program, fire safety and emergency procedures, would be qualified to be on call to handle maintenance problems of McKendree Village after normal work hours. These staff people would work on their own with minimum supervision.

Understands and complies at all times with the rules and regulations contained in the personnel handbook.
Understands thoroughly all procedures and regulations for fire safety, bomb threat and disaster programs.
Understands thoroughly the basic operation of all equipment within the facility.
Uses sound judgment in obtaining advice from the Director of Facilities or the Maintenance Supervisor when advanced mechanical knowledge is required.
Assists other Technicians in making major repairs, or carries out any assigned duties in the operation of the complex.
Follows proper safety procedures while operating, repairing or testing any piece of equipment within the facility.
Participates in continuing education classes relative to preventative maintenance.
Attends and participates in all service and safety training programs organized and conducted by the maintenance department.
Communicates in an effective and courteous manner with all facility personnel, visitors and patients, and maintains a neat appearance at all times in accordance with department dress code. Maintain an available schedule on off duty hours for emergency calls to the facility.
Job Qualifications
Required:
High school education and trade or technical school completion of approved apprenticeship program in maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration. Be able to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings and control schematics. A preference of machines and knowing the techniques for repairing them. Capable of assuming responsibility for maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and various utility systems. Able to adhere to established standards and procedures specified in blueprints and specification. Ability to communicate with workers when assisting in training and giving instructions. Occasionally handles loads weighing up to 50 lbs. Heavier loads are handled with aid of a helper or mechanical equipment. Walks and stands most of the day. Stoops and climbs frequently. Handles and manipulates tools and equipment. Talks and hears when supervising. Near-visual acuity to inspect repairs and maintenance. Works both inside and outside. May be required to work overtime and long hours in event of emergencies.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
