Manages a fleet/equipment repair and maintenance facility (shop) involving departments in multiple locations.
Coordinates equipment and personnel availability to provide services (e.g., vehicle mechanical inspections, mechanical repairs, administrative services, technical expertise, etc.)
Reviews equipment maintenance records to ensure that proper maintenance was performed.
Reviews charges for equipment repairs according to the terms of new and extended service warranties, in order to receive full benefit of the warranties and reduce costs.
Plans, organizes and directs maintenance and repairs of fleet.
Responds to inquiries and complaints from departments in order to provide information, maintain good relations and improve shop performance.
Coordinates the transport of equipment as required in the repair of vehicles, using a tow truck or car trailer.
Oversees the vehicle emissions program to comply with federal and state mandates.
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and job sequences to meet workload requirements.
Schedule and maintain training and qualifications for shop personnel as per FCC and customer requirements.
Ensure the demonstration of equipment operations, job training, and safety procedures are given to new employees, and assign employees to experienced workers for training.
Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
Interpret specifications and company policies and procedures for workers.
Identify equipment needs and possible shortages and requisition necessary equipment to meet operation needs/demands.
Follow and enforce all FCC policies, including Safety, Quality, and training.
Lead and participate in safety programs for all shop activities.
Additional duties as directed by Operations Manager
High school diploma or GED preferred.
3
years of supervisory experience.
Minimum 5 years experience with equipment, tools, processes, procedures, etc. of the department.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Extensive knowledge of department environment, work order flow, inventory control and scheduling.
General working computer knowledge.
Excellent managerial and organizational skills.
Ability to delegate work effectively.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
