Shall design machinery applying electromechanical engineering principles from general instructions and specifications with little or no supervision referring to customer needs, specifications and contract documents.
Shall:
Collaborate with Engineering Manager, Design Engineers and Vendors to source and select components.
Conduct analysis and prepare preliminary layouts, sketches, notes, and documentation in response to customer proposal requests.
Prepares machinery layouts, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, and schematics using 3D computer-aided design tools.
Investigate, evaluate and make recommendations based on design factors including safety, ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, ease of maintenance, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, cost-defining recommendations, and change proposals.
Review drawings and layouts to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, function, and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and improvements to fabricators, engineers and designers.
Conduct experiments and prototype new ideas.
Support writing technical proposals for customers.
Represent company on specific projects.
