The Senior Engineering Technician will be responsible for the following:
Performing on-site representation for Integrated Power System (IPS) Support Systems for DDG 1000 Class Surface Combatants in construction at Bath Iron Works.
Ensuring equipment and system tests are conducted in accordance with test procedures and/or work packages.
Providing equipment status/problem reporting with recommendations for solutions on improving the operation and maintenance of shipboard systems.
Education, Work Experience and Clearance Requirements include:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Five years of practical experience in the design, engineering, operation testing and maintenance of combat systems or mechanical or electrical (HM&E) systems for US Navy surface combatant ships.
The position requires a working level knowledge of:
Main and Auxiliary Turbine Generators
Gas Turbine Water Wash/ Turbine Drain Transfer
HFP
Low Pressure Air
Propulsion Fresh Water and Sea Water
Chilled Water Systems
Shaft Line, Thrust Bearings, and Shaft Lock and turning gear
Mechanical Support to AIM---oil and cooling
Fuel Service
Emergency Diesel (mechanical)
Steering
Experience drafting Naval Correspondence including briefs, data charts and technical reports.
Ability to research and interpret technical documentation.
Ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
Desired Experience/Skills:
10 years of practical experience in the design, engineering, operation, testing and maintenance of combat systems or hull, mechanical or electrical (HM&E) systems for US Navy Surface Combatant ships (Gas Turbine +). This experience may have been accumulated in a Naval Shipyard, a private shipyard performing maintenance or new construction work, or on active duty in the US Navy.
Specialized experience in the use, maintenance, or revision of Navy Planned Maintenance or equipment/system technical documentation.
Proficient with Windows PC and Microsoft Office software.
Professional level written and verbal communication skills.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
