The Chrysler Quality Organization is currently seeking a Global Powertrain/Structural Durability Engineer to join our Quality team at the Chelsea Proving Grounds. The Engineer - Global Powertrain/Structural Durability professional is responsible for developing all powertrain and structural vehicle durability tests and schedule maintenance to support Chrysler's vehicle testing facilities in Chelsea, Michigan (Chelsea Proving Grounds) and Yucca, Arizona (Arizona Proving Grounds), as well as internationally. The selected individual will have experience in working cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of powertrain development, testing, or data acquisition and analysis. The candidate must be high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident engineer who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style, and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others. Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity.

The specific responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Effectively use statistics to analyze data to meet the stated durability targets
Develop vehicle durability tests to ensure all customer usage durability targets are developed into vehicle level durability test
Collaborate with a team of durability and customer usage engineers as well as durability drivers
Efficiently assess needed data for the development of durability test schedules (i.e. loads, accelerations, displacements, torquesetc.)
Communicate the data acquisition needs across functional groups
Create necessary test schedule procedures and specifications as well as maintain and update test procedures
Provide test schedule information to stakeholders for use in product design
Maintain current in the state-of-the-art vehicle durability testing and recommend/implement necessary improvements to Chrysler testing facilities and procedures
Utilize specialized software (e.g. nCode, Matlab, Excel) to assimilate complex data to assess fatigue damage to develop durability testing
Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment
Display effective communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership
Establish partnerships both internally and externally and to influence without direct authority
Commitment and dedication in delivering a premier product to the consumer
Represent the Voice of the Customer to the platform teams
Drive team success by clarifying expectation and minimizing political hurdles

Basic
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Proficient in statistics and data analysis
Proficient in Microsoft software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
Possess outstanding teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability at planning, prioritizing, and goal setting
Competency for maintaining multiple projects and developing timelines
High-energy, hands on individual
Product design experience in engines, transmissions, drivelines, chassis or body systems/components
Past quality or product development experience
Testing experience (vehicle, bench, system testing) or equivalent
A working knowledge of nCode, Matlab, Minitab or equivalent software
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in engineering, quality management desired
5 years minimum industry experience
Experience in collecting sources of customer data to develop tests for component, systems, or vehicles
Prefer communication skills to support meetings at all levels including with Senior Leadership
