Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager/Supervisor/Lead, functions as a Patient Access Services Representative in processing registrations for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency room patients. Conducts professional patient interviews, obtaining demographic, financial and biographical information. Processes registration in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with GED. Medical terminology preferred.
Prefer two years of clerical experience, including proficiency of Microsoft Windows. Requires a minimum of two years customer service experience. Must attend the required Patient Access Services training class; and must pass test upon completion with a score of 90%25%20or better.
This position requires all new co-workers to complete a two week registration training class in Fort Wayne, Indiana at the point of hire. Candidates for this position must be able to work Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm for two consecutive weeks in order to complete this training.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
