We are also in the process of finalizing the purchase of TRW which will only add to our market share and future growth. It is a really exciting time for our company.
Our suspension division is continuing it's rapid growth and we are looking for a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer for our suspension group to work on cutting edge new suspension products. This person will be in a key, high visibility role. The position encompasses everything from ride handling to tuning to system development to customer management.
This is probably the most critical position on the development team as this person is the one who ties it all together and coordinates the calibration/software/hardware/performance characteristics of the system so that it achieves the targets set by our OEM customers. It's basically the quarterback of the team, the person who directs/coordinates making all the various components work together as they should.
Responsibilities:
Determine required adjustments to Hydraulic valve codes to achieve ride and handling targets established by the customer.
Must have a good understanding of valve systems and various hydraulic principles.
Determine required adjustments to Operating software to achieve ride and handling targets established by the customer.
Experience with Vector Cantech CANape/CANalyzer is perferred.
Utilize Software tools for the calibration tuning, trouble shooting of chassis electrical system faults, and flashing of control module (ECU) with updated Software and/or Calibrations
Responsible for releasing hydraulic settings and calibrations for production including preparing the necessary documents for final valve codes and software calibration release.
Responsible for issuing BOM/S01 documents via SAP for Customer Released Valve settings
Responsible for issuing SER (Engineering Report) after each ride session, obtaining Customer signoff and effectively communicating customer expectations to project team.
Maintain accurate change logs and evaluation notes during every step of the tuning process using the correct terminology. Organize information systematically and separately for each program.
Develop strong working relationships with customers conveying both professionalism and strong product knowledge.
Responsible for coordinating ride work activities with customer, submitting ride work requests thru Engineering Resource Manager.
Direct the efforts of support technicians when conducting ridework at customer locations.
Assist the support technician in making the component changes required to achieve desired results.
Identify product design issues and communicate details to Product Engineering in a concise and organized manner.
Attend and participate in Product Engineering meetings as requested to resolve issues and/or formulate a response to customer inquiries.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of ride development processes through participation in the Ride Group Forum.
Inform Ride Development Manager of all equipment and tool related issues so they can be resolved.
Maintain equipment, ride kits, tools as well as a clean and organized workspace.
Complete special assignments including the investigation of performance and noise issues.
Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Advanced reading, mathematical, written and verbal communication skills, mechanical, engineering and technical skills acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree program in an engineering discipline.
Minimum of 2-5 years' experience relating to automotive chassis development activities.
Ability to evaluate vehicle ride characteristics and associate them with product specific component changes.
Good organizational skills and self- motivated.
Ability to use precision measuring devices including calipers, micrometers & dial indicators.
Strong computer skills in PC based office software including Excel and Power Point.
Ability to operate Roehrig dynomometers and Sachs SP testers.
Ability to troubleshoot computer, and equipment problems when working in remote customer locations.
Ability to travel and work on an international basis for 2-3 week periods with little or no support.
Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and schematics
Strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications/Competency:

Language/Mathematical Skills:
Good written and spoken English and math skills are required. German language skills are beneficial.
Computer Skills:
Must have good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook softwares.
Experience with CANape, CANalyzer, ClearCase/ClearQuest, DOORS, preferred
Must be capable of learning other software packages as required (SAP, ClearCase/ClearQuest, etc.)
Other Skills and Abilities:
Individual must possess good interpersonal skills to communicate and work with coworkers.
Individual must work well in a group environment.
Individual must be willing and able to travel to Germany. Travel may include visits to Germany for system/product trainingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
