Senior Electrical Engineer, Hardware Design

The EO/IR Systems Hardware Group
at BAE Systems has a requirement for a senior level electrical hardware
engineer with experience in the design and implementation of state-of-the-art
digital and analog electronics as well as
FPGA design and verification. It is highly desirable that the
candidate have expertise in the electronics associated with electro-optical
systems and/or precision gimbaled systems. It is desired that the candidate
have experience with ground and airborne systems. The position will
require interaction with multiple engineering disciplines as well as customer
and subcontractor representatives.
The candidate must be able to
work with minimal supervision and drive the electrical design from concept,
through manufacture and debug, to operational deployment. The candidate will be
required to generate and maintain project schedules and should possess
effective communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
We are seeking candidates with
experience in these two areas:
Digital board design
FPGA design and verification
Required Skills and Education
- Design and document creative, state of the art solutions for real time embedded systems
- Contribute to proposals, sub-system documentation, and design reviews
- Electrical board design and implementation
- Component selection and design data base management
- Schematic capture using Cadence Design HDL and /or Cadence Capture CIS (Orcad)
- Documentation Control
- Board layout
- Signal integrity and termination techniques
- Cadence Sigrity signal Integrity Tools
- Bus topologies, impedance control
- Stack-up, isolation and EMI control
- Familiar with Cadence Allegro layout tool suite
Preferred Skills and Education
- FPGA design and verification
- RTL design (Verilog) and testbench generation/simulation
- Write and execute test cases to cover all functions and corner cases
- Floorplanning
- Constrain and close timing
- Document/comment code
- Linux operating system
- Source control with subversion (svn)

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
