Software Engineer Intern

Internship for talented students pursuing a career in the field of software engineering who wish to gain hands-on experience to complement their technical course work. The intern will be assigned software engineering roles on programs or special projects consistent with the level of education and experience of the individual candidate. In this capacity, the intern will work independently, but under the guidance, of a mentor to learn about software engineering principles and technical development specific to BAE Systems. The duties of an intern could include, but may not be limited to: programming, unit testing, developing test procedures, analyzing test results, troubleshooting or documentation.
Required Skills and Education
- The candidate should complete their sophomore year by spring/summer 2015
- The candidate should be enrolled in a four year technical degree program with strong software content, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering & Computer Engineering, Mathematics, etc
- Knowledge of one or more higher level programming language such as C, C++, C# or Java, group project experience, demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, good communication skills and a passion to learn
- Software Programmer
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
Embedded programming, knowledge of OO concepts, knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, power point and familiarity with Windows, Linux, Unix operating systems.
