Summary:
Responsible for cake decorating and decorating any bakery items as directed by Bakery Manager while displaying courteous customer service.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. A minimum of one (1) year prior bakery or related experience preferred. Knowledge of requirements of government regulatory agencies as they relate to bakery sanitation and copyright laws preferred.
Essential Duties:
Produces high quality cakes in a fast and efficient manner.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Prices and stocks cakes on shelves and displays with clear, accurate code dating.
Uses and maintains bakery equipment properly and safely at all times to avoid injury and to protect the investments of the company.
Assists in proper ordering of merchandise.
Receives special orders and us suggestive selling methods when possible.
Implements G.R.E.A.T. Service program
Participates fully in the REWARDS and Shrink Awareness programs.
Knowledge / Additional Skills / Aptitude:
Excellent oral communication skills. Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds frequently. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls. Must frequently walk, talk, hear, crouch, kneel, and reach with the hands and arms. Must be able to climb a ladder and reach overhead. Must be able to sweep and mop floors, dust and face shelves, and lift and carry trash containers. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment and is rarely exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to refrigerated coolers. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
