Full-time Career/Career Conditional This vacancy is located in theTechnical SupportDivision. The Incumbent serves as an Information Technology Specialist who provides training, support, assistance and liaison serviced to customer agency personnel. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Perform server software installations. Perform server system administration and support including monitoring and restoring back-ups, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol leases, and managing user accounts on domain to include adding, removing, and moving users on servers.
Provide user account support to include set-up and configuration (e.g., user profile, e-mail, printer access), and troubleshoot user account problems.
Provide training, support, assistance, and liaison services to customer agency personnel. Analyze and resolve operational problems and monitor overall customer satisfaction rates.
Work with senior specialists, customer agency managers, and staff in the selection, testing, and implementation of hardware and software based on user requirements and ITS policy.
Work with senior specialists to implement office moves and renovations that include tracking services through an automated service desk system. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-11 , you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes: Accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide-range of knowledge of IT support, deployment, and customer service requirements and techniques pertinent to providing IT customer support. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where you analyzed a number of alternative approaches and suggested responses to IT issues, problems, and concerns; AND Experience independently providing various information technology customer services and support such as providing user account support to include setup and configuration; performing systems administration and troubleshooting support; addressing, investigating, and resolving workstation security issues; performing installation and configuration of complex software; performing imaging, installation, and deployment of workstations and servers; and installation and deployment of peripherals.
For the GS-9 , you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of such specialized experience includes: Accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide- range of knowledge of IT support, deployment, and customer service requirements and techniques; AND Experience assisting senior specialists with providing various information technology customer services and support such as providing user account support to include setup and configuration; performing systems administration and troubleshooting support; addressing, investigating, and resolving workstation security issues; performing installation and configuration of complex software; performing imaging, installation and deployment of workstations and servers; and installation and deployment of peripherals.

For the GS-11: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. (In order to be creditable, education must be related to the position being filled with a major study of computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or engineering, or course work that required the development or adaptation of computer programs and systems and provided knowledge equivalent to a major in the computer field.) Attach a copy of transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.
For the GS-09: A masters or equivalent degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. (In order to be creditable, education must be related to the position being filled with a major study of computer science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or engineering, or course work that required the development or adaptation of computer programs and systems and provided knowledge equivalent to a major in the computer field.) Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
