Our client in NYC is looking to hire a 6-month contractor for an immediate project.
JTAPI and telecommunication are not required.
The Role
The Systems Engineering team is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Java software engineer to play a key role developing critical applications and services for the Information Systems department. You will be challenged with a broad range of topics and protocols such as Web Services/SOAP, Windows Services, TCP/IP, JTAPI, SIP, RTP. The candidate should demonstrate a history of on-time delivery, work on assigned tasks with minimal guidance, and a positive get-it-done attitude.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or proven equivalent work experience.
- 5 years working experience in developing applications in Java, C#, C+
or other object oriented languages with at least 3 years specific Java experience.
- Thorough knowledge of the Java runtime and most common Java/JRE design and implementation patterns.
- Experience in socket programming and a good understanding of basic network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, etc.
- Experience with concurrency and multi-threaded programming.
- Good understanding of XML and web service technologies.
- Working experience and proven skills developing for MS SQL Server, Oracle or other popular SQL based DBMS.
- Highly motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to provide solutions for complex problems and challenges.
Highly recommended:
- Working experience with telecommunication infrastructure and call distribution systems, and/or working experience developing JTAPI based solutions.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
