Department Description
Communications and Public Affairs promotes the mission of the University to internal and external constituencies to foster public and private support. The department is responsible for the strategic management of overall public relations, internal communications and public affairs activities for Carolina. Communications and Public Affairs provides leadership and services to 250
communicators across campus and creates a unified campus-wide communications strategy. The unit also manages important issues that may affect the University's reputation and public image. The department's offices include: Campus Communications, Content Development, Internal Communications, Local Relations, Media Relations, Social Media, State Relations, University Relations, UNC Creative, UNC Visitors' Center, Web Strategies and WUNC Public Radio.
Position Description
Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications and Public Affairs (AVC) and collaborating with the Vice Chancellor for Communications and Public Affairs (VC), departmental directors, and schools/units; Director of Advertising & Communications Strategy, develops strategic communications and public relations plans and helps the leadership of Communications and Public Affairs guide the execution of the tactical elements of UNC-Chapel Hill's public relations campaigns. The Director serves as one of the lead contacts for communications professionals across the UNC campus and provides counsel to leaders in the various schools and units. He/she has a masterful command of content creation and media and influencer relations as well as the ability to use holistic, integrated thinking. The Director oversees the development and implementation of the University's paid media campaigns and communications research efforts.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Eight to ten years of communications and/or public relations experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
