Job Description:
The Analytical Services Manager manages all aspects of a business unit of Quantachrome that conducts laboratory testing for Quantachrome technologies. The candidate should be able to manage existing workloads, establish standardized testing procedures following GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), manage documentation & reporting, liaise with other Quantachrome business units, and manage customer interactions. This position will also be responsible for business development and marketing activities to promote the laboratory testing services business.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Organize and manage the workflow in the laboratory and coordinate activities throughout the lab
Work with engineering and product development to BETA test new instruments
Delegate work amongst the various technicians
Generate quotations and proposals
Generate data reports and arrange conference calls to explain results
Monitor outputs and keep records of workflow and supply usage
Supervise ordering and delivery of new supplies
Monitor equipment calibration to ensure optimum results
Perform quality tests to ensure the company meets quality assurance standards
Oversee customer services to maximize sales
Make risk assessments for the laboratory and ensure that the company's Health & Safety policy is observed
Offer cover for other staff when required
Evaluate and assess new equipment
Evaluate and pursue laboratory accreditation(s)
Attend select trade shows to promote the Companys services
Follow company policies, procedures and safety regulations
Background Requirements:
Masters or PhD in materials sciences, chemistry, physics or related fields
MBA or commercial business experience is beneficial
Track record of published research in related field is beneficial
Working within either a commercial, industrial, or academic laboratory in related field
Specific experience with Quantachromes core technologies is desired
Experience managing laboratory personnel and work flowsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
