Job Description:
Senior Systems Administrator position involving support for a complex UNIX environment with over 18,000 systems and growing. In this environment you will work as part of a team in support of operational and project related activities. Provide advanced technical and operational support to other departments and teams as required in support of business objectives. Requires competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, talent management, results focus and inspirational leadership.
Responsibilities:
Display strong inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills.
Be self-motivated and able to meet objectives with little or no direct supervision
Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems.
Provide senior level technical support for unix related project activities.
Build and modify systems to meet project and user requirements.
Participate in design and code reviews.
Provide mentoring to fellow administrators.
Evaluate hardware and software requirements and influence purchase decisions.
Configure and tune hardware and software to insure optimum performance and resource utilization.
Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.
Minimum
Qualifications:
1. Seven years experience supporting two or more flavors of UNIX operating systems
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
3. Thorough understanding and hands on experience with Oracle RAC, Symantec Storage Foundation
4. Three years VMware ESX on Linux experience
Desired:
ITIL certification
Advanced shell scripting
Proficiency with network concepts and utilities including NFS, NIS, DNS, TCP/IP, etc.
Advanced proficiency with monitoring tools such as HP Openview, Network Node Manager, HP SIM
Advanced shell scripting and programming skills (BASH, Python, JAVA, PERL, AWK).
Thorough knowledge of HP and Oracle hardware
Experience in a SAN or NAS based environment.
Experience with EMC and/or HP disk arrays, switches and hubs, and attendant software such as BCV and SRDF.
Experience with clustering software and techniques, packages and package failover.
Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:
- Provide technical support for Unix related project activities.
- 4-6 years experience in an HP-UX and/or SunSolaris Unix environment.
- Proven competency with most UNIX commands/utilities.
- Knowledge of or experience with C programs.
- System installation and configuration experience.
- Experience using various monitoring tools such as Glance, Perfview, Top and ITO.
- Shell scripting and programming (KSH, TCL/Tk, PERL, AWK).
- Familiarity with HP and Sun hardware.
- Familiarity with SAN, NAS and other storage technologies.
- Familiarity with EMC and/or HP disk arrays and attendant software such as BCV and SRDF.
- A degree in computer science or equivalent experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
