Position
Summary:
Under the direction of the Team Lead, and or Director, the Scheduler is primarily responsible for scheduling and pre-registering patients for Ancillary services.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year previous office experience; Knowledge of medical terminology/anatomy; Basic knowledge of ICD-9 coding ; Basic typing skills; Knowledge of Microsoft Windows; Good communication and telephone skills; Flexibility in meeting staffing requirements; Ability to lift 20 lbs.; Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements
Key Responsibility Areas:
Enters or verifies patient demographic information in the system; Selects the appropriate Ancillary service and schedules testing date and time; Coordinates multiple tests; Verifies that patient has all necessary referrals and insurance documentation; Enters test type and other necessary information into the system; Reads test preparation instructions to patient. Trouble shoots any questionable physician orders, with follow up to the patient.
Utilizes Rightfax software to retrieve faxed physician orders.
Utilizes ABN software at the point of Scheduling to determine Medical Necessity prior to the patient's arrival for appointment.
Enters or verifies patient demographic, financial and medical information in the system. Performs on-line eligibility for all applicable payers. Identifies resources needed to assist disabled patients. Utilizes on-line referral grid.
Attends and participates in monthly department meetings; Assists with quality assurance activities as needed
Shares in the Medical Center's vision, demonstrates its values, supports its philosophy and is sensitive to its mission; Demonstrates knowledge of and follows Departmental and Medical Center policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual; Follows a regimen for professional growth; Interacts with each person/age group according to their various developmental needs; Performs all other duties related to this jobEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
