Position is in the Warrior Transition Battalion (WTU) at the Soldier and Family Assistance Center (SFAC) to assist wounded, ill and injured Soldiers and their Families successfully reintegrate and prepare for, find and maintain employment. Part of the Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program (SFL TAP/formerly ACAP), services include the conduct of automated and manual pre-separation briefings, delivery of job assistance training in group or individual settings, conduct of individual counseling sessions, and other job assistance activities such as critiquing resumes and other client work products, helping clients prepare for job fairs and employment interviews, etc.
Specific tasks include:
Provides direct SFL TAP/ACAP services to wounded, ill and injured soldiers and their family members.
Conducts automated and manual pre-separation briefings, delivery of job assistance training in group or individual settings, conduct of individual counseling sessions, and other job assistance activities such as critiquing resumes and other client work products, helping clients prepare for job fairs and employment interviews, etc.
Assists clients in using career development assessments and tools, analyze and interpret data and results, and assists clients in creating Individual Transition Plans (IDP's) to help them take action.
Presents programs and workshops on such topics as transition overview, MOS crosswalk, resume building, interviewing techniques, federal resume writing and application processing, preparing for a job fair and how to conduct a job search.
Works closely with federal agencies and other program partners to find internships for Soldiers through the Operation War Fighter program while Soldier is in WTB.
Required Qualifications:
Position requires a Master's degree or Counseling, Training and Development, Human Resources Management or related field.

years of professional work experience in the field or in a related area.
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and successfully undergo a background investigation (National Agency Check).
Candidates must have strong technology skills and demonstrated experience in utilizing MS Office products

Qualifications:
Veterans, Military Spouses and Wounded Warriors are encouraged to apply.
Master's degree in in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, General Counseling, Workforce Development, Training and Development, Human Resources Management or related field is preferred.
Previous experience working with wounded, ill or injured service members or persons with disabilities, helping them to achieve their career goals.
Licensed professional counselors and candidates with an active certification in one of the following is preferred: Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWPD), the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (National Certified Counselor (NCC) credential), or other counseling certifications accredited by the International Coach Federation and similar certifying bodies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
