The Citizen & Defense Services business unit provides support in three major areas: business process services, where we perform the actual function that the process is relate to; business process related software, that helps us manage the various components, the systems associated with the software in the process; and then there is a business process management which is used to help design and track the performance of the specific business process. The business units work supports primarily the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. We support our clients with a work force of over 2600 Serco and Serco subcontractor employees and provide mission critical support services that primarily support Immigration, Visa Processing and Commerce. The business unit also has approximately 2000 employees and operates at hundreds of locations across the United States and overseas in Korea, Japan, Italy, and Germany. We provide personnel services to military personnel, military families, and civilians working for the military. Our capabilities address a wide range of managed services, as well as the complete military lifecycle which includes recruitment, to active duty through retirement.

Job Description:
This position will provide strategic assistance to the Army Soldier For Life Program Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP, formerly ACAP) located in Crystal City (Arlington, VA) in support of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Department of Military Personnel Management, Army G1. The mission of the Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program is to connect Army, governmental, and community efforts to build relationships that facilitate successful reintegration of our Soldiers, Veterans, and their Families in order to keep them Army Strong and instill their values, ethos, and leadership within communities. The SFL -TAP Employer Outreach office, within the SFL-TAP office, is a team of strategically focused professionals --dedicated to supporting the efforts of SFL-TAP as they serve as the single point of contact for industry leaders -- facilitating the connection between transitioning Soldiers and potential Employers. The SFL-TAP Employer Outreach team also fuses together the various efforts of Outreach Assistance partners (transition stakeholders). Team members support program meetings, monitor transition activities, prepare communications, analyze data, conduct research, and make recommendations for program improvements at the strategic level. SFL works closely with government official, Department of Defense Agencies, and internal Army transition stakeholders (e.g. Military Spouse Employment Partnership Program (MSEP), Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS),and Employer Partnership for the Armed Forces (EPAF) among others. Additional Tasks:
Compiles, maintains, verifies and interprets data using organization plans and independent judgment. Performs in-depth preparatory analysis of potential employers and completes post meeting executive summary reports within the allowed time
Frequently develops briefings and information papers along with related documentation for higher level review
Performs a variety of complicated tasks as required utilizing a wide degree of creativity
Typically reports to an onsite team-leader
Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there is minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. Job assignments may require working at client site where working conditions may vary
Travel may be required.
Required Skills and
Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 5-8 years related experience
Applicants must successfully undergo a background investigation (National Agency Check)
