Description
Work in conjunction with Work Equipment Mechanics to inspect tools, equipment, and roadway machines; to troubleshoot malfunctions; to perform maintenance and repair; to work with tools, machines, vehicles and equipment; and to perform safe work habits. Physical duties require the ability to do the following: exert physical strength sufficient to lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing between 50 lbs. and 150 lbs.; maintain balance on uneven terrain and ballast for short distances; have bilateral dexterity; maintain hands and arms in set position with minimal tremor; climb occasionally as needed on steps and ladders to board equipment; bend and stoop; and stand or sit for more than half of the work day with the opportunity to change positions periodically.
Accountabilities
Inspect tools, equipment, and roadway machines.
Troubleshoot malfunctions.
Perform maintenance and repair.
Plan, organize, and track information.
Understand and follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.
Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and be able to extract relevant information from tables, charts, graphs, and text.
Must have the ability to use both high precision (for example, calipers, electronic scales) and low precision (for example, tape measures, hand levels) instruments to get accurate measurements.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Applicants receiving a conditional job offer must pass a color vision assessment to ensure that they are able to perform the essential functions of the job by adequately discerning different colors.

If hired, an applicant must be capable of obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within your probationary period.
Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electronics, and/or electrical systems.
Ability to read and understand schematic drawings of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Associate's degree in electronics, control systems, AC/DC motors, diesel technology, electrical components, or mechanics OR a minimum of two years of verifiable electrical or mechanical work experience with motorized equipment (e.g., heavy equipment, farm equipment, construction equipment, trucks, ships, airplanes, trains).
