iJET International in Annapolis, Maryland, seeks a part-time intern to assist Americas regional team with day-to-day monitoring and research, preparation of client-facing materials, and maintenance of country-specific information. Candidates must be able to commute to Annapolis, Maryland.
Location: Annapolis, Maryland
Start Date: January 2015
Commitment: Part- time (20 hours/week)
Pay: $10/hr
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring open source media in English; working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese
Identifying information relevant to security and business resiliency
Maintaining and updating country-specific information
Processing information into client-facing products
Other duties as assigned
Ideal candidates will have:
Excellent English writing skills; ability to write in a clear and precise manner
Working knowledge of at least one local language
Familiarity with geopolitics and security-related matters in the chosen region
Strong research and computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office products, and familiarity with social media and RSS feed readers
Bachelor's Degree. Master's degree candidates preferred
Academic background in international relations, political science, international security studies, or a related field
A demonstrable, working knowledge of region
Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment background check

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
