This Electronics Engineer position involves performing spectrum support tasking for USN Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Air Traffic Control, Landing Systems, and other systems and platforms in support of PMA213. The duty location will primarily be in or around the Patuxent River Naval Air Station and associated facilities off-station. The engineer will regularly interact with and provide status, planning, schedules, and updates to high-grade military and civilian personnel from various aircraft and ships platform program offices.

Plan, direct, and perform efforts to design, test, acquire, integrate, install and support USN electronic systems.
Serve as an expert consultant to others regarding applications of electronics engineering concepts to both hardware and software system designs and operations.
Interpret and apply DoD acquisition management policies and processes I order to collaborate with SMEs to execute administrative actions required to support technical project goals, and manage multiple projects.
Generate and process frequency records and spectrum certification requests that support operational planning and management of the radio frequency spectrum.

The Engineer Basic Requirement for this position are A a degree in professional engineering. Curriculum must (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics; OR
B combination of education and experience - college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by ONE of the following: professional registration; written test (successfully passed the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) examination or the written test required for professional registration); specified academic courses (successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering); OR related curriculum (successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field).

In addition to the Basic Requirement your resume must demonstrate at least one or more years of specialized experience that has provided the knowledge, skills ability to perform at the DP-04 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Creditable specialized experience includes: (1) applying advanced engineering concepts and technologies applicable to the design, development, acquisition and sustainment of Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) and related aircraft navigation and control systems; (2) selecting, designing, testing and integrating technologies and hardware/software products used in IFF avionics, navigation, radar, and/or communications systems; (3) applying systems engineering concepts to effectively address challenges in meeting operation and design requirements, system interrelationships, and operational effects of proposed new system designs/upgrades; and (4) interpreting and applying acquisition management policies and processes.
The selectee must complete the requirements of the Career Development Program for Acquisition personnel in accordance with DOD Manual 5000.52M, Systems Engineering Certification Level III, within two years of appointment. Requirements can be found at: .
