SUMMARY
The Software Engineer, participates in the technical design and implementation of new products or enhancements. Participates in all phases of the development cycle: concept, technical design, prototype, code development, testing, release to QA and implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of our Internship and Mentoring Program.
You need to love to write code.
Passion for the entire process of engineering and delivering software includinglanguages, tooling, testing, culture, process and organization.
Proven experience of coding using a structured programming language.
Willingness and ability to be mentored and learn.
Capable of taking full responsibility for personal and professional development.
Must be able to work fluently and effectively within a team.
Preferred Skills
You've built something that other people have used.
Experience with the JVM and any JVM language e.g. Java, JRuby or Scala
Basic understanding of concurrency and distributed systems
Experience with open source projects
BA or Masters in Computer Science
Essential Functions
Involvement in the various activities of software engineering including requirementsunderstanding and capture, design, implementation, testing and operationalization.
Involved in creation and ongoing buildout of comprehensive unit tests, automatedintegration testing and contributions to testing infrastructure.
Responsible for interacting respectfully within the team of engineers.
Learning and mentorship from senior engineers on the team.
Attendance and participation in code readings, technical talks, product sweeps,standups and iteration planning sessions.
Quality Assurance during final phases of engineering and release to production.
Involvement in building internal tooling and software to improve processes and generally make things easier for the engineering team as a whole.
