Switchboard Operator, ED Registration

Responsible for all the functions relating to the operation of the switchboard and coverage for registration in the Emergency Department. Receives all incoming calls, provides information regarding patients, hospital services and events. Runs an internal and external beeper system. Handles all hospital codes; monitors and responds to all alarm panels. Maintains key log. Keeps an accurate log of all necessary calls and codes. Provides accurate processing of ER and Urgent Care registrations, prompt transcription of patient treatment orders and timely processing of patient charges utilizing the Order Communication tool. Switchbaord operator also maintains and processes patients' medical records as well as the ER log. This employee also provides clerical support, as time allows, to the Emergency Department, Business Office, Billing Department and Medical Information Department.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
