This includes the ability to plan and implement engaging activities for children that concentrate on physical, social, and emotional growth. The Lead Teacher specifically provides individualized care, hygiene, and positive academic development for our children.
The ideal candidate for this position should at least have a minimum of a high school diploma, six months of experience in a licensed child-care facility, meet all state requirements for early education teaching positions, and must maintain state in-service requirements. In addition, he/she must be able to comply with physical requirements of the job, and demonstrate excellent customer service.
The following is a representative list of duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
-- Support and implement The Sunshine House Brain-Based Learning and Creative Curriculum programs in both classroom activities and routine conversation.
-- Execute age-appropriate interactions with children both physically and verbally.
-- Maintain classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness.
-- Observe, see, hear, and respond to children's' needs, emergencies, and conflicts that might occur in classrooms, on playgrounds, in bathrooms, or common areas.
-- Assist children with their personal hygiene.
-- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration.
-- Able to interact (stoop and bend) with the child on their level.
-- Attend staff meetings, in-house training, and other center functions, etc., as requested by the director.
-- Able to stand on feet for long periods of time, at least 95% of the day.
-- Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
-- Adhere to The Sunshine House Health and Safety procedures.
-- Familiarity with state licensing and The Sunshine House policies.
-- Meet vehicle-operating requirements and drive 14-passenger bus to and from local elementary schools.
-- Perform other duties as required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
