POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design of production tools and/or machines, and for developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, and tooling. Identifies, evaluates and recommends capital equipment purchases to management that will improve manufacturing process. Analyzes and plans space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
1. Establishes labor standards and the review and auditing of performance to these standards.
2. Establishes the format to be used in the development of standard data and the use of work sampling techniques to resolve questions of operator utilization or performance.
3. Works on studies relating to work methods and equipment including such things as machining methods, tooling and materials.
4. Preparation of details layouts of plant facilities to optimize utilization and product flow.
5. Estimates labor standards for new or revised products.
6. Assists manufacturing department management in evaluating capital equipment requests.
7. Undertakes assigned projects relating to the analysis of variances or grievances filed by bargaining unit personnel.
8. Prepares reports and summaries as required.
1. Design fixtures, tooling for machining centers, welding and assembly.
2. Design/develop new equipment/process for the manufacturing of the product.
3. Create/establish routings/work instructions.
a. Conduct time studies to ensure routings are correct.
4. Determines best/most cost efficient method in producing product.
5. Review product design, make change recommendations to aid in manufacturability.
6. Reviews/prepare plant layouts to optimize product flow.
7. Assists in evaluating capital equipment needs/requests.
8. Report summaries/progress of projects as needed.
Bottom line requirements we need notes on with candidate submittal:
1. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology Engineering or a related field.
2. Machining or welding background.
3. CNC programming experience.
4. Experience with EXCEL, Word, Microsoft Office, Autocad/Cadkey, Mapics, Powerpoint preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
