Job Duties: Lead the design of the computing infrastructure, working closely with architects on project design and technical direction. Ensure that the technical environment is properly monitored and correctly used in the timely resolution of problems. Analyze data critical to capacity forecasting, asset management and procurement. Identify system performance issues and oversee the development and correct use of tools to resolve these problems. Provide expertise in cross-functional and intra-departmental efforts, interfacing with consultants and architects. Assist IT managers and IT senior management with planning and reporting. Help less experienced Administrators understand complex problems that they are assigned.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Computer Science or other relevant technical discipline such as Computer Engineering, Information Systems or Software Engineering plus 4 years of experience involving all of the following: administering large scale Linux installations with focus on secure deployments; migrating virtualized infrastructure across Linux major versions; architecting and deploying Cisco UCS, VMware Vsphere 5, EMC VMAX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle RAC and CRS; implementing EMC SRDF, Vmware SRM, and EMC Celerra Replicator to provide zero data loss solutions at a remote location; implementing disaster recovery solutions for mission critical applications through VMware SRM; moving applications to private cloud datacenter with minimum down time; planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware; designing and automating configuration management of platform systems using VMWare Vsphere, Vmware Vcloud Director, and Vmware SRM; using monitoring tools VMware Hyperic, HP Sitescope, or Xymon implementation & KPI settings.
