Job Description: The Conference IT/AV Manager is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions and AV requirements to meet the needs of the guests and associates as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. The essential functions include but are not limited to: o Maintain and provide trouble shooting support for systems and equipment at the property (i.e. local and wide area networks, back office accounting, e-mail, reservations, PMS, call accounting, internet access, point of sale, time and attendance, sales & catering, office automation, key entry systems, backup systems, telecommunication systems, audio visual equipment) o Coordinate all hardware and software purchases insuring purchases meet budgeted constraints as well as any requirements mandated by Corporate Director of IT. o Act as a liaison between the hotel, Corporate, and hardware providers to communicate hardware issues and needs, install new hardware, negotiate hardware maintenance agreements and keep departments informed of advances and developments. o Establish and maintain user procedures and hardware familiarization and training for all systems as needed. o Analyze complex business needs presented by staff and/or clients and recommend and/or implement technical solutions o Develop and maintain all backup procedures and record for all property data and systems o Develop and maintain standards and procedures for system security to minimize potential exposure/risk o Ensure use of IT resources conforms to Federal and state laws and all software is legally owned by or licensed to the hotel o Maintain present inventory of the property IT systems and hardware. o Anticipate future network needs including identifying proactive solutions to satisfy needs o Serve as liaison between business units and IT, communicating technical information and plans o Provide expert and creative solutions for laptop and desktop system problems. o Provide management support for Conference Services Set-Up operations.
Requirements:
o Bachelor degree in Computer Science or similar from an accredited college or university o Minimum of five years of related experience preferably within the Hospitality industry, specifically in Conference Services, Audio Visual and IT o Experience with hotel property management systems (i.e. Delphi, Micros, Opera)o Proven ability to foster relationships with key third party vendors o Demonstrated analytical ability and financial acumen o Effective presentation and interpersonal skills o Extensive experience in Local and Wide Area Networks o Extensive experience with personal computers and software applications, including Microsoft Suite of products o Experience in effectively implementing and troubleshooting software. o Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. o Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English o Ability to prioritize, identify problems, and seek solutions and follow up and follow through with a variety of tasks o Must be able to work variable shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed. o Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Some portions of daily assignments involve ergonomic risk, such as repetitive tasks, hands exertion, vibration, cold temperatures, poor body mechanics, restrictive work stations or awkward postures. o Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates. o Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. o Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
