Eaton, Hydraulics, located in Hutchinson, KS has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer. Eaton, Hutchinson is seeking candidates who embrace challenges and thrive in a culture of innovation and integrity.
The primary functions of this job are as follows:
o Identifies processes within the manufacturing areas to reduce variation utilizing Six Sigma (variation reduction) methodology.
o Supports manufacturing by participating on teams and assisting with corrective actions.
o Verify results of process changes achieve desired results through data collection and analysis.
o Identify and lead assigned Value Stream Team through process improvements related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
o Utilizes change management to be sure facility systems are updated with all project improvement changes.
o Ensure new product launches are managed effectively and completed on time.
o Utilize effective project management to successfully implement method and process improvements, major cost reductions, and productivity improvement.
o Analyze existing production machinery and new machinery on the market. Evaluate and recommend utilization of new and existing machinery to effect methods improvements and cost savings.
o Review, analyze, and evaluate production efficiency and cost. Initiate cost reduction and methods improvement studies and evaluates results.
o Utilize process development tools, such as process failure mode and error analysis (PFMEA), Error Proofing, Process Validation, Lean Tools, etc.
o Support development of five-year capital plan that supports the needs of the plant: machine replacement, new technology implementation, cost reductions, machine rebuilds, and ensure machinery is capable of producing old and new products.
o Develop standard work instructions and training material. Deliver training to employees.
o Lead/manage assigned projects and budgets to meet established goals
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Basic
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution is required.
o Minimum one year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required
o Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Master's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
o 3 years of experience in a machining manufacturing environment.
o Green or Black Belt Certification
