The primary purpose of this position is: To provide full time personnel accountability for the maintenance and repair of refueling vehicles pumping systems. Perform equipment repair procedures to include utility pumping systems designed for purposes as aircraft refuel and defuel operations.
Maintains and repairs all aspects of the fuel system including, but not limited to, piping, tanks, pumps and associated equipment.
Read and interpret work orders, parts requests, drawings/schematics/blue prints and manuals in order to accomplish assigned duties.
Modify, repair, and replace fuel system component parts.
Accomplishes periodic inspections, recurring maintenance requirements and associated documentation in accordance with all applicable guidance and requirements.
Coordinate and perform quality assurance on all fuels distribution contracted maintenance.
Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment in accordance with all applicable rules and standards including, but not limited to, OSHA and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Codes and Standards.
Must have a working knowledge of the applicable Air Force Manuals, work order programs, nomenclature, work methods, Manuals or established guidelines.
Inspect vehicles and equipment. Performs inspections each day the vehicle/equipment is used. Inspects all vehicles/equipment at least every 7 days. Uses the operator's inspection guide and trouble report AF IMT 1807, /Operator's Inspection Guide and Trouble Report (Fuel Servicing)/.
Removes unsafe or inoperable vehicles/equipment from service and repairs or turns equipment over to the appropriate maintenance activity for corrective action. Coordinates with Vehicle Management to ensure all required vehicles/equipment are turned in on time for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance inspections.
Trains personnel to inspect and maintain pumping systems; records inspection results on appropriate forms.
Reviews vehicle inspection forms and validates repairs before the vehicle is released for service. Updates the truck status board in BSM-E.
Establish an effective mobile equipment corrosion control program.
Establish a tool control program IAW AFI 24-302.
Establish a special purpose vehicle checkpoint using the team concept. Develop specific checklist and training plan outlining team member responsibilities. Annotate discrepancies on applicable forms.
Perform corrective action on pumping system discrepancies; turn over chassis discrepancies to Vehicle Management for corrective action. Inspect pre-positioned or dispersed vehicles in place at the option of the Fuels Management.
Required to comply with PPE requirements and standards.
Must be able to troubleshoot and identify problems.
Schedules work and verifies quality of work performed.
Read, understand and interpret Air Force Manuals, Governing supply systems, policies, rules, warehouse programs, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or established guidelines.
Read,understand, and interpret CSC methods and established guidelines.
Maintains records to conform to written guidance and applicable changes.
Maintains required forms and records and assures proper use.
Requires working scheduled and unscheduled overtime work including areas other than respective assignment.
Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
Position is classified as mission essential and requires employee to shelter at work site and respond to disasters and other contingency operations.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Four years of experience in mechanics and maintenance of United States Air Force Fuel Distribution Systems and Liquid Fuels Maintenance
Must have United States Air Force Liquid Fuels Maintenance formal training or technical school.
Must have United States Air Force Fuel Distribution Systems formal training or technical school.
Must provide documentation of normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examination.
Must possess and have ability to maintain valid MS Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazmat endorsements.
Must have ability to maintain a Secret Level Security Clearance and Restricted Area Badge for flightline access.
Must have experience with USAF Supply Processes both inter and intra supply.
Must have experience in USAF Supply Customer Service, Inventory, Procedures, Stock Control and Equipment Management.
Experience working with procurement practices.
Experience working with DOD sources of supply.
Must be able to comply with PPE requirements and standards.
Must possess valid State Driver's License; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government and/or United States Air Force vehicle driver's license.
Must have favorable National Agency Check (NACI).
Must have ability to meet the requirements for issuance of a computer network account (favorable National Agency Check and successfully complete computer security training) and any required security clearances including flight line access.

Ability to understand financial analysis and implications with regard to contracts and suppliers.
