The incumbent in this position functions as the Electrical Engineer in the Utilities and Energy Product Line (UEM PL), Public Works Business Line at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific. The UEM Engineering Product Line provides high quality and specialized unique professional engineering and consultation on utilities investment, utilities systems and infrastructure, power generation, water, wastewater, steam, compressed air and gas systems, distribution systems, planning, programming, design, construction, operation and maintenance, utilities energy conservation and renewables in support of Utility reach-back support operations to NAVFAC Echelon IV Commands.
You must be a US Citizen. Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. You must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Assessing condition, capacity, and reliability ofelectrical generation plans and distribution systems and energy conservation options for electrical generation plants, electrical distribution systems, electrically operator equipment and lighting.
Conducting Protective Relay Coordination studies and modeling power systems using computer software.
Providing consultation services on electrical power generation and distribution systems and electrical energy conservation matters.

MINIMUM
Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) engineering and consultation on power generation, and utilities systems; (2) performing electrical distribution system studies and evaluations; and (3) conducting utilities or energy surveys.
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training, and experience. Applicants should meet the DAWIA Certification requirements for the Facilities Engineering career field and be certified at Level 2 at the time of application. Physical Demands: Work within the office is sedentary; however, there is walking, bending, climbing and limited lifting are required, especially in performing on-site investigations and inspections for assignments such as Energy conservation and Utilities Improvement surveys. Traveling by various means of land, sea and air transportation is necessary.
Work Environment: The work is performed primarily in an office setting with minimal exposure to personnel safety hazards. Field investigations occasionally require exposure to moderate discomforts such as high level noise, high temperature, etc., in utility plants, industrial activities and facilities under construction, where some electrical and personnel hazards also exist.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
