Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid by the Department of the Interior. Coordinates all wildland fire restriction and closure plan development and implementation.
Develops or adapts environmental education materials for use by schools and the public on such subjects as fire prevention, prescribed burns, fire equipment, fuels management, and fire rehab.
Maintains/improves/develops current relationships with various media outlets throughout Southern Idaho.
Maintains effective relationships with the media by preparing news releases, writing feature stories, and providing requested background information such as maps, photos, pictures and art work.
Develops and coordinates the contents and construct of fire webpages for the Idaho IntraNet Website.
Updates content to improve the usability, look, and feel of the webpages.
Obtains color maps, photographs and synthesized graphics for use in the webpages.
Determines need for and content of webpages based on coordination with appropriate subject matter specialists and public interest.
Maintains the consistency, accuracy, and comprehensiveness of fire webpages.
Work with District Information officer for press releases, media advisories and special projects. The physical demands of this position are generally sedentary. Some field work is required and you must operate various government vehicles including those with four-wheel drive. Work is basically performed in an office setting and office space is provided for most of this work, however, there are occasions when meeting are held in various meeting places outside of the office.
You must possess a valid state driver's license by the closing date of this announcement and at all times during your appointment in this position.
