Overview:
1) BS and successful completion of a CAAHEP SBB program w/in last 4 years.
2) MT(ASCP) or BB(ASCP) certification and BS and full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in blood banking in US, Canada, or an accredited laboratory within the last 10 years (three years of which must be acquired post BS degree).
3) Master's or doctorate degree in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory science or an appropriately related field from a regionally accredited college/university, and 3 years of full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in blood banking in the US, Canada, or an accredited laboratory w/in the last ten years (three years of experience must be acquired post BS).
4) Doctorate degree in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences, or an appropriately related field, from a regionally accredited college/university, and two years of post-doctoral fellowship in blood banking in the US or Canada w/in the last ten years.
BASIC
Qualifications:
1. B.S. degree in Medical Technology or related field.
Certification by a recognized agency, and fulfillment of all requirements of the Georgia
Department of Human Resources for Laboratory Supervisor.
Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification from ASCP.Minimum of five (5) years transfusion service experience, including at least two (2)
years supervisory experience.
4. Ability to provide leadership, use independent judgment and make sound decisions.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of all procedures performed.
6. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
