Job Summary
:
The Chief Financial Officer will be a highly analytical accountant who is passionate about the furniture industry and will help drive growth and profitability through strategic merchandising including: assortment planning, vendor negotiations, on-site merchandising, pricing strategy and inventory management.
Business Plan, Assortment and Accounting Responsibilities
Strategic planning and provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
M&A analysis and due diligence
Create, document and communicate Internal Controls and other policies and procedures
Maintain banking, legal, insurance & other key vendor relationships; loan negotiations; annual insurance renewals; credit card and finance company liaison; facilitate annual workers comp insurance audit; facilitate annual financial statement review and tax return preparation with outside CPA
Cash management and cost control
Budgeting and Cap-Ex planning
Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards
Oversee EOM closing; review workpapers, budget analysis, sales forecasts,KPI reporting, cash flow projections; prepare month end memorandum; timely submit monthly financial reports to senior management and leadership team
Communicate to leadership team financial results at corporate and departmental levels and budget analysis; initiate corrective actions where necessary
Manage and review sales tax filings
Licenses, permits & registrations
Partner with Human Resources to develop and monitor staff development and employee training
Team Management Responsibilities
Collaborate on hiring and oversee team of accounting associates and category managers to manage vendor relationships, monitor inventory positions,
Own, manage, and prioritize multiple projects at once with high-quality output and attention to detail, appropriately delegating tasks and providing support for all members of team
Provide team with frequent, actionable feedback and professional development opportunities
Serve as Category Leader in executive meetings when necessary, and ability to speak to merchandising and marketing metrics
Vendor Management Responsibilities
Establish new vendor relationships and work with existing vendor base to negotiate terms, develop incentive programs, and ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfillment centers.
Set vendor funding and terms goals for team and lead negotiations with top vendors to achieve these goals
Set frameworks and advise/participate in complex or highly strategic negotiations
Ensure accurate forecasting and close monitoring of procurement margin.
Lead supplier/publisher business reviews.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management Responsibilities
Work closely with supply chain partners to purchase inventory required to support sales and promotions.
Partner with supply chain team to manage inventory health by ensuring efficient inventory flows (including the forecasting, purchasing, and return of new and catalog products). Involves determining and executing exit strategies for unproductive inventory.
Other Responsibilities
Strong analytical acumen. Comfortable generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analyses.

Great communication skills (both oral and written) are a must.
Knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is preferred, as well as an agility with web-based software applications and internally-developed systems.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
