Eaton located in Searcy, AR has an opening for a 1st Shift Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising hourly employees to deliver excellence to our customers and meet assigned deadlines. The production supervisor will ensure that production is managed in an efficient and safe manner, and will have interaction at all levels of the organization, including external customers.
Essential Functions:
- Proactively implement, promote and maintain a safe working environment
- Lead, coach, recognize, and motivate shop floor employees to utilize Continuous Improvement tools to achieve zero safety incidents, increase productivity, reduce internal/external quality defects, and achieve delivery targets
- Fully engage workforce and drive change by empowering employees with decision making and involvement. Foster innovation and promote continuous learning and lean manufacturing
- Facilitate and advise employees within the assigned department to meet department goals, and balanced scorecard objectives
- Attain established schedules and drive work order performance >95%
- Assist cycle counters with root cause analysis and solutions to drive inventory record accuracy >95%
- Drive activities to reduce past due, scrap, rework and overtime cost while meeting quality objectives
- Utilize Eaton development resources (Eaton University, First Line Excellence (FLEX) training, Off-site courses, etc.) to develop self, direct reports, improve employee engagement, and overall results
- Conduct process checks within area of responsibility and monitor performance per standard work and expected results to engage employees in improving the business
- Train, evaluate, coach and develop subordinates utilizing the Eaton performance management system to help them meet established objectives and improve their overall performance and competencies
- Direct continuous improvement teams in working on projects that make a positive impact in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture
- Lead shift start up meetings fostering two-way communication and transitioning employees from home to work

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Basic
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or supply chain management
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Position Criteria:
- Experience in a manufacturing setting or relevant intern or co-op experience
- Ability to lead and function in a high performance work team focused on exceeding expected results through motivating and engaging employees
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and project management skills and applications
- Proficient computer-systems knowledge and application skills
- Analytical skills
- Written and oral communication skills
Preferred
Qualifications:
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering
- Assembly Supervisor experience
- Experience with CNC Programming and metal cutting
- PLC programming experience

- Six Sigma knowledge
