The Department of the Navy (DON) is more than ships, aircraft, and sailors; it is over 181,000 civilian employees at Navy and Marine Corps commands, bases, stations and facilities throughout the U.S. and around the world. It requires a highly trained, educated and skilled workforce to support today's sophisticated Navy and Marine Corps ships, aircraft, weapon systems and computer systems. Over 41,000 acquisition professionals perform cradle to grave management of highly technical systems, equipment, facilities, supplies and services. Individuals will be placed in the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP). The NADP is a structured management-training program including formal education, diverse rotational assignments, extensive on-the-job training, and graduate tuition assistance that is tailored to various acquisition career fields for up to three years. These positions are located throughout the U.S.; however a majority are located within the greater Washington D.C. metropolitan area, CA, WA, MD, VA, PA, NJ, RI and FL.
This is an interdisciplinary position which may be filled by any of the following series: Mechanical Engineer (0830) or Computer Engineer (0854). You must be a US Citizen. Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance. Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation. Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. You must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Performs developmental engineering assignments of progressive complexity utilizing basic techniques, procedures, and methods e.g. review contractor drawings for adherence to contract specifications regarding design detail; review engineering work of minor complexity under the supervision of a senior engineer; review design proposals; promote application of conservation and environmental ideas.
Perform basic computations and calculations to produce/review designs and specifications.
Studies engineering texts, periodicals, manufacture publications, test data and other technical material.

BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR ENGINEERS : Basic qualifications for Engineering positions can be found / . MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS GS 7 : A degree (completed by June 30, 2015) that meets the requirements through one of the following methods, no more than 10% of academic credit can be based on pass/fail or similar non-traditional grading systems.
2.95 GPA overall or higher in last 2 years (= or less than 10% Pass/Fail)
3.45 GPA or higher in major or last 2 years in major (=or less than 10% Pass/Fail)
Upper 1/3 ranking in graduating class (you must submit proof with your application)
National Scholastic Honor Society. Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. (You must submit proof with your application) OR Successful completion (or will complete by Jun 30, 2015) a 5-year program of study of at least 160 semester hours leading to a Bachelor of Engineering or higher degree in an accredited college or university. OR Successful completion of one year of graduate education (18 semester hours, completed by Jun 30, 2015) related to Professional engineering. OR One year of professional engineering experience in an appropriate field equivalent to GS-5 level work in the Federal service that has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of an Engineer. Examples of qualifying experience includes duties such as: developing engineering test data; writing technical engineering reports; performing engineering calculations; analyzing technical information for accuracy; formulating test plans to ensure scientific accuracy; or other engineering tasks. OR A combination of the required specialized experience and a percentage of the required graduate level of education such that, when the percentages of the required graduate education and specialized experience are added together, they equal 100%. (Only graduate education and only professional experience equivalent to the GS-5 or higher is creditable.)

One year of professional engineering experience in an appropriate field equivalent to GS-7 level work in the Federal service that has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of an Engineer. Examples of qualifying experience include duties such as: conducting cost estimates and feasibility studies; reviewing design proposals; and reviewing reports of failures and recommending remedial action. OR Successful completion of a Master's degree in professional engineering or I have successfully completed (or will complete by Jun 30, 2015) two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education (36 semester hours) that leads to a Master's degree in the field of engineering or have a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a Bachelors in engineering. OR A combination of the required specialized experience and a percentage of the required graduate level of education such that, when the percentages of the required graduate education and specialized experience are added together, they equal 100%. (Only graduate education and only professional experience equivalent to the GS-7 or higher is creditable.)

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
