The Judge Group is seeking a Quality Control Operations Supervisor for a large food manufacturing company in New Jersey. The qualified individual will supervise the daily quality control activities and lead hourly Q.C. personnel to achieve plant's quality improvement objectives. He or she will participate in operational improvement initiatives within manufacturing and cover all vacations and time off for production supervisors.

Responsibilities:
Coordinates training for lab technicians and audits lab technicians' compliance to procedures
Ensures that product on hold is retested within 24 hours and follow up on recommended disposition (to stock, rework, donate, destruction, etc.) within 48 hours
Analyzes product HOLD frequency and performs root cause analysis
Devises preventive measures based on analysis
Performs responsibilities of a Food Safety Team member
Performs sanitation and Food Safety Audits
Performs incoming container quality audits (bottle and cans)
Ensures execution of all testing schedules following standard procedures
Participates in changeover efficiency improvement initiatives
Coordinates new product test runs, including sampling submission
Audits the lab instrument calibration and maintenance program and reviews calibration procedures quarterly
Performs studies to improve productivity, quality and reduce operational costs as needed under the direction of the Production Plant Manager
Participates in safety improvement initiatives such as audits and job hazard Analysis
Coordinates structured on-the-job training
Assists on improvement of plant's maintenance systems

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree highly preferred
5-10 years of quality control/manufacturing/supervisory experience
Strong supervisory and administrative skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Previous supervisory experience in food and beverage industry
Knowledge of basic microbiology theory and methods
