The Judge Group is seeking a Production Supervisor for a large manufacturing company in New Jersey. The qualified individual will efficiently manage the day-to-day operation of the shift manufacturing function while producing top quality and safe beverage products following company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Ensures that production schedule is completed and all production work orders are processed on a timely basis
Communicates with logistics personnel on any potential delays or deviations from schedule
Ensures that employees are operating equipment effectively, running equipment at target speeds and attending to all issues quickly and safely
Ensures operators report downtime and equipment issues accurately
Investigates any deviations and reports them for discussion and improvement
Monitors raw material usage and waste during shift
Monitors production processes while on the production floor, researching opportunities for improvement and proposing solutions
Works closely with shift mechanics, discussing operational and mechanical issues and facilitating agreement to resolve repetitive issues
Monitors shift mechanics' performance, ensuring prompt response to line issues and providing guidance related to production line priorities
Communicates with logistics and other supervisors to ensure adequate supply of raw materials to maintain production continuity across all shifts
Performs safety inspections of production areas monthly
Ensures that quality issues are addressed on a timely manner
Requirements:
5
years manufacturing line supervisory experience
Maintenance and quality control experience highly desirable
Effective team builder with demonstrated abilities providing leadership in a unionized environment
Demonstrated superior problem-solving skills and ability to drive process improvement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to meet targets and deadlines while dealing with complexity
Good time management and effective decision making skills
Good Microsoft Office skills and manufacturing planning/controlling applications
Ability to work during off-shift hours including night shift and weekends
Good understanding of industrial safety
