PIRHL Contractors, a general contractor and owner of high quality single-family and multi-family housing, has an immediate opening for a Project Superintendent in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. This position reports directly to the President of Construction and supervises other employees and contractors. You will be responsible for overseeing all required work and labor for the completion of a quality product within or before the construction schedule deadline.
Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Record and maintain detailed daily field reports, Schedule, coordinate, and be responsible for daily subcontractor work activities. Assist in the creation of the project Construction Schedule, update the schedule weekly with the Project Manager and be responsible for the implementation and execution of the work in compliance with the schedule. Schedule and conduct pre-construction meetings with new contractors. Schedule and conduct weekly coordination meetings on site with contractors. Take daily job photographs and transmit images to Headquarters. Initiate RFI's from site based questions and log into Timberline/Expedition. Assist the Project Manager in the review and distribution of shop drawings and submittals and ensure that current documents are being used in the field. Ensure all involved contractors have the proper shop drawings and submittals for coordination. Maintain records of building layout lines, elevation, and key site elevations. Maintain current building department drawings on site. Maintain updated construction drawings with all RFI's, bulletins and field changes. Coordinate building inspections and testing services. Identify materials that require long lead times, coordinate timely order placement, and verify with subcontractor that such material has been placed on order. Track progress of ordered material. Assist Project Manager in reviewing bulletins prepared by the architect prior to issuance, pursue change order pricing from contractors, verify quantities, labor hours and scope of work performed.
Qualifications include:
6 to 9 years experience in the construction, general contracting or land development industry. Proven knowledge of all aspects of construction supervision, including scheduling and contract supervision. High School degree. An Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred. Excellent computer skills. Timberline and/or CRM software considered a plus. Must be able to work on site for 8-12 months through project completion. Ability to use independent judgment when performing and scheduling construction activities and initiative when interacting with the daily challenges of the position.
