Unit Description Sodexo is seeking an experienced Retail Food Manager 2 for a campus dining unit located in Birmingham, Alabama. The University of Alabama Birmingham campus is located in the heart of Birmingham Alabama. The position will manage high volume retail operation that consists of 2 Retail outlets including Starbucks coffee house, and Zime fast casual restaurant. Retail Food Service Manager Responsibilities include: Customer service, cash management, time management, food handling and safety, drive and dependability, communication, coaching and mentoring and attention to detail. Reporting to the Operations Manager this position will oversee up to 25 associates and 5 supervisors. Relocation Assistance Available! The ideal candidate will have the following: College/university retail food service management experience (prefer experience in Starbucks,experience managing multiple fast food service units,cash handling experience,experience leading, training and hiring a retail food service staff,experience with labor management systems Position Summary Maintains food quality and customer service in a cash handling retail food operation that includes branded concepts, in-house formats and signature designs. May assume General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
