Production Scheduler

Summary
The Production Scheduler will be responsible for ensuring best practice(s) in demand planning, inventory planning, production planning and supply planning, with linkage to site financials. He/she will play a key role in the overall business growth and inventory reduction strategies. This position will work closely with the functional leaders and site materials teams. Production Scheduler shall be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production and operation workers, such as inspectors, machine setters and operators, assemblers and plant and system operators. The Production Scheduler shall ensure that production schedules are created and completed on time, and within budget.

Job Duties
o Prepare daily production schedules
o Issue all work orders per production schedule
o Participate with Material Requirement Planning improvements/implementation team
o Assist with Cycle counting/Bar Coding
o Ensure integrity of Data Entry
o Ability to function as the Materials Manager in his/her absence and train staff to function in your absence.
o Reviews of raw stock to verify re-inspection procedures.
o Participate with Inventories.
o Estimate materials and labour required for production
o Co-ordinate activities with warehouse and production units
o Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies
o Monitor production progress
o Compile worksheets and specifications of orders
o Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
o Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the Production Schedule
o Review long-term forecasts to identify and mitigate possible capacity/material issues and recommend appropriate action.
o Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints and grievances
o Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
o Increase worker efficiency and production rates
o Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion, within budget
o Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
o Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
o Manage cycle count activities to ensure proper counts are conducted and the inventory is accurate.
o Review demand and supply to understand bottleneck and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand.
o Lead the Sales and Operating plan process that looks long term at matching capacity with demand, lead-time and delivery performance.
o Participate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future time periods.
o Constantly look for improvements and help implement solutions.
Recommend components to stock to support a pull system for products and to reduce lead-times.
o Perform ongoing analysis of weekly, monthly and future capacity to optimize product level loading and achieve manufacturing continuity during low and high volume months.
o Manage cycle count activities to ensure proper counts are conducted and the inventory is accurate.
o Review demand and supply to understand bottleneck and propose alternative capacity or areas needing capacity improvement to meet demand.
o Lead the Sales and Operating plan process that looks long term at matching capacity with demand, lead-time and delivery performance.
o Participate in business planning meetings to plan out activities in future time periods.

o Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs



Requirements

o Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management.
o Diploma in a related field
o High school diploma, GED or equivalent
o 10 years experience as a production scheduler
o Production experience preferred
o Extensive knowledge of MPS/MRP, Demand Flow, JIT, Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Kanban, and Supply Chain design.
o APICS certification preferred.
o Advanced ability to effectively problem-solve, communicate (orally and in writing), lead business discussions and train others.
o Team player within multi-disciplined team.
o Strong organizational skill set
o Experience in cross functional team
o Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items
o Experience in managing third-party service providers
o Strong knowledge of software systems, as well as Microsoft Office products; Word, PowerPoint and 'expert' in Excel
o Able to maintain filing systems, databases, and basic diary/minutes management
o Knowledge of local and federal regulations and ordinances
o Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
o Meticulous records maintenance skills
o Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
o Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
o Strong customer service orientation
o First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
