Manages the design, development, implementation and administration of databases.
1. Directly, and through subordinate managers, manages the design, development and administration of databases and their supporting infrastructure.
2. Develops and implements standard practices for administering enterprise databases and monitoring solutions.
3. Creates and maintains operational and strategic plans that support established business goals.
4. Establishes controls and procedures that ensure the quality, security and availability of enterprise data.
5. Establishes and maintains DBA group service offerings and customer service level agreements.
6. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology, evaluating the benefits of adopting new products, services and methods.
7. Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
10-12 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience, including supervisory experience.
Oversee the full development life cycle of highly scalable and reliable web applications using Java and .NET technologies as well as legacy applications in C++/VC+
and VB6.
Responsible for managing to and tracking the budget for the development team.
Must have experience with Teradata.
Interface directly with Product Management to determine all aspects of product releases.
Manage product releases.
Ensure all development projects are completed with the established time, scope and resource parameters while ensuring high-quality results and managing risk effectively.
Ensure compliance for all development activities with the SDLC.
Develop software components to support data enrichment and transformation in a high traffic transactional data and data warehouse environment.
Provide development estimates outlining business and technical risks.
Develop and deploy software products in an iterative, incremental process that fully incorporates testing using Agile, Scrum and continuous integration.
Identify and significantly contribute, where appropriate, to Enterprise initiatives.
Provide technical leadership for architectural, design, and coding approaches.
Support and participate, in formal requirement, design, and code reviews.
Provide recommendations on development tools and practices based on experience, best practices, and acquired learning.
Regularly update technical and business teams as to plans, progress, and issues.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Supervise assigned staff, and perform personnel actions including hiring and performance evaluation.
Assures quality of products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews, audits, and site visits.
Supports business development activities, including the preparation and review of technical and cost proposals.
Performs program financial management services, including budget and cost quote preparation, cost management, and reconciliation.
Coordinates and monitors sub-contractor activities and administers subcontractor deliverables and finances.
Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews to senior management as requested.
Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.
