Job Description: To provide investigative analytical assistance to agents of the Bemidji Regional Office of the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. To assist on special casework assignments and/or other complex investigations. To serve as a contact person for MOCIC and other investigative resources.
Minimum
Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1) 4 year degree from an accredited school in Criminal Justice or related field
2) 6 months of paraprofessional experience with a criminal justice or law enforcement entity
3) Experience working with database systems to include collecting, analyzing and processing data
4) Ability to organize large volumes of documents, reports and files related to investigative casework
5) Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to prepare written assessments and reports
6) Ability to efficiently navigate through social networking sites to obtain investigative information
It is the policy of the Department of Public Safety that all employees submit to a background investigation prior to employment, which includes the following components:

Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.

Qualifications: 1) Previous analytical experience with a criminal justice agency
2) Familiarity with criminal justice databases

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
