Eaton located in Jackson, MI has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer. This individual will drive performance improvements in assigned cells as measured by Quality, Safety, Delivery and Cost.
Essential Functions:
-Safety: Champion improvements to improve safety, such as ergonomics and material handling, for assigned cells.
-Champion capital projects for assigned cells.
-Drive cost out projects to meet overall plant cost out objectives in assigned cells.
-Quality: Use reports supplied from Quality group to monitor and analyze quality data for assigned cells and champion improvement projects.
-Support technical cell initiatives that originate from cell team members, leadership, and own individual ideas, to achieve goals related to Quality, Safety, Delivery and Cost Out.
-Delivery: Champion projects that improve efficiencies to facilitate the reduction of overall process time.
-Process Ownership: Create and modify as needed standard work for assigned cells, to include; (A) step by step process plan. (B) Quality Inspection Requirements (C) JSA information, obtaining required input from other functions as needed.
-Support: Provide day-to-day support of Quality System by providing disposition assistance for DMRs written by team members. Support cell processes, technical assistance and tooling improvements as needed.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Basic
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
-Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Position Criteria:
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Demonstrated leadership and problem solving ability.
-Ability to provide and foster effective on-going communication at all levels of the organization.
Preferred
Qualifications:
-Masters Degree.
-Lean/Sigma Certification or Training.
-Experience in a manufacturing environment (can be through college internships etc.)
