JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for set-up and operation of the CNC Mills, Lathes, and Multi-Task Machining Centers (MTM).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Sets up and operates CNC Vertical & Horizontal Machine Center & Lathes.
2. Must have proven skill set to set up and operate 3 axis machine centers. With the capacity to learn up to 7 axis.
3. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to understand center line rotation of fixtures as applied to machine set up.
4. Must be versed in Rotary or Indexing capability as the application applies to the Verticals and Horizontal Machine Center .
5. Will need to understand the applicable X,Y,Z axis centerline, clearances and tool statements to Vertical and horizontal machining centers and CNC Lathes.
6. Good understanding of Edge and Centerline pick up on the Vertical Machine Center .
7. Optimize process to achieve maximum efficiency.
8. Save updated programs.
9. Receive daily instructions from Plant Supervisor/Line Manager and plan day accordingly.
10. Clock in and off operations according to sequence number start date of the work order.
11. Check parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper gauges.
12. Perform daily maintenance check on machines and report concerns to Plant Supervisor.
13. Use proper feed and speed for maximum efficiency.
14. Deburr work in process.
15. Train new hires or apprentices.
16. Follows all safety policies and procedures.
17. Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
18. Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
PERIPHERAL DUTIES
1. Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
2. Assists in formulating departmental strategic plan.
3. Performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
2. Completion of Apprenticeship program or Technical school perfered.
3. Four years' experience either in a production or job shop environment. Or a combination of work experience and Technical Schooling.
4. Able to grind cutting tools, read and interpret blueprints and work order instructions.
5. Understand three and four axis machining.
6. Understand the picking up of a center line of a horizontal table.
7. Working knowledge of computers.
8. Able to take verbal and written instructions and work from handmade sketches.
9. Demonsrated knowledge of G-Code
10. Effective verbal, written, and communication skills.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
