Gerdau is currently seeking a Rolling Mill Utility Worker for its Monroe, MI facility.

Responsibilities:
Primary:
Work and assist as directed by Rolling Mill Supervisor.
Maintain Rolling Mill area housekeeping.
Possess and demonstrate ability to qualify for sequential position on the Rolling Mill.

Secondary:
Acquire and maintain valid Lift truck Operators permit.
Utilization of EMM & GBS concepts.

Safety Related:
Maintain housekeeping in ROLLING MILL area
Observe and follow all general and departmental safety rules and regulations.
Maintain a valid Lift truck license.
Train on remote crane operation.

Cost/Production Related
Responsibilities:
Maintain ROLLING MILL housekeeping.
Maintain ROLLING MILL storage areas.
Clean-up or assist in clean-up of material spills.

Environmental Related
Responsibilities:
Observe and follow all general and departmental environmental procedures, practices and regulations.
Complete annual environmental training, if applicable.
Spill containment and response.
Fugitive dust control.


Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
1
year of previous work experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is required.
Must pass the written test with a minimum average of 70%
Demonstrated proficiency with basic computer skills.
Willing to work in varying work conditions including: heights, cold, heat, wet, noisy environment.
Ability to work swing shift and changing schedule as required.
Willing to work overtime as selected and needed.
Willing to comply with Gerdau safety standards, policies and procedures.
Candidate must be a team player and work well with others.
Must be motivated, a self-starter and self-directed.
Willingness and ability to learn and move up in the job sequence.
