Job Description: Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Responsible for the development of subassemblies, covering the complete design process from requirements specification to feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed design using ProE, detail drawings, procurement of prototype parts, prototype testing, system integration, and handoff to manufacturing. Focus on analytical and experimental validation and optimization of challenging mechanisms and opto-mechanical designs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field and 1 year of experience in job offered or in a mechanical engineering-related occupation.
Education or experience must include:
1. Mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods;
2. Demonstrated skill at hands-on lab tests, automated data acquisition, and data analysis;
3. Proficiency with ProEngineer solid modeling, drawing creation and mechanical tolerancing;
4. Experience in at least two of the following: precision mechanics, mechanisms, opto-mechanical systems, optics, optics alignment, Finite Element Analysis, CFD, Control systems, Vibration and Noise analysis or design of semiconductor equipment;
5. Demonstrated ability to design experiments to identify the problem root causes;
6. Developing and implementing engineering solutions;
7. Matlab/Simulink;
8. Failure Analysis on mechanical parts.
