Responsibilities:
This position will serve as the primary Shelby resource for all I&E technical expertise relating to Process Safety, I&E Mechanical Integrity, and Project Engineering.
Improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of plant electrical equipment through the application of engineering expertise in providing low cost solutions to electrical reliability problems
Performs root cause analysis on electrical equipment and instrumentation failures, develops corrective action and tracks results.
Support day to day troubleshooting of site electrical / instrumentation issues.
Develop and review selected I&E work scopes for turn around and equipment outages. Manage and audit regulatory mandated systems and maintenance work, such as protective instrument calibration and safety instrumented system functional validations.
Provide recommendations and justification for equipment upgrades and input to the plant capital plan. Provide expert input on design and reliability of instrumentation/electrical systems to PHA's and other process design safety reviews.
Works with electrical contractor and project managers developing project drawings for electrical and control layouts, schematics and installation details, reviewing electrical and control vendor drawings and supporting construction as required.
Establishes and is responsible for predictive/preventive strategy for site electrical equipment to meet SWP requirements.
Supervises and coordinates work of I/E technicians; identifies personnel training requirements.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
B.S. Electrical Engineering or equivalent 5
years industrial experience.
3
years experience in instrument electrical reliability and/or I&E project experience in plant operations.
Working knowledge of 480VAC power distribution systems including Switchgear, MCCs, Panel Boards, Transformers, and VFDs.
Knowledge of PHA's and safety reviews, MOC, and Safety Instrumented Systems
Capable of handling several projects and support activities simultaneously
Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of 15KV class distribution systems.
High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Project, AutoCAD LT, Allen Bradley series 5 PLC and Panel View HMI configuration experience
SKM electrical distribution modeling software.
Working knowledge of SAP maintenance and project modules, registered PE, Member of ISA or IEEE.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
