MSU's IT environment is complex and includes decentralized IT units and departments across the university. As a result, we work collaboratively build relationships across a federated structure, effectively aligning centralized and decentralized IT resources and staff. MSU IT Service has recently created a Project Management Office (PMO) office; the selected candidate serves as Senior Project Manager and will be assigned to the Director Project Management and Integration Services; will be a key player in establishing PMO services: establish a common set of process for the delivery of PMO services; establish a common set of tools to be used for managing projects, including but not limited to: Risk Management, Project Change Control, Issues Management, Resource Estimating, Project Costing; establish a common set of templates, including but not limited to: Project plans, Project calendars, establish common status reporting, portfolio management; on an ongoing basis the senior project manager will: support IT Services and other departmental project managers for IT projects; provide project management for large strategic projects; participate in strategic planning; will be expected to establish positive and productive working relationships with integration managers, project managers, business owners, and IT Services management staff; the senior manager is viewed as the 'go-to person' who collaboratively works with teams on problems and conflict resolution, moving between the detail and big picture, as well as the current and future aspects of problems and their resolutions; this role provides critical support in the areas of: maintaining and updating project management processes and tools, risk anticipation, identification, and mitigation; participating in strategic planning and annual planning efforts of IT Services and IT related projects; developing and mentoring on project managers, project issue resolutions, communications between projects and stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; more than eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in project management; managing the complete project life cycle (from initiation and development to execution through project close out and migration from a project to steady state operations) for Information Technology or ERP projects; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated strong analytical, reasoning, and problem solving skills; research skills to gather and analyze the necessary information to make recommendations; proficiency developing efficient and effective solutions to business or IT problems; proficient oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to present and discuss functional and technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding; ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines; ability to work with staff at all levels of the university; competency in developing and documenting processes and procedures; ability to translate high level visions into detailed level information or vice versa; five years supervision of project managers.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
